My Story
MY CHILDHOOD was shaped by a holistic doctor as a mum who taught me about the profound correlations between body, mind and soul. I learned early on to trust my intuition and strengthened this consciousness on various journeys in my young adulthood.
One of these pathways led me to Qoya, a movement form for women that combines yoga, dance and intuitive movement. The Qoya Teacher Training introduced me to new tools for guiding women through inner processes, taught me to hold space through body awareness, communion and mutual healing.
MY DOULA TRAINING at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, Canada in 2018 opened my eyes to how the way we share knowledge can empower the content itself. Every week we learned from different wisdom keepers about homeopathy, anatomy, massage, herbalism, midwifery, on-call practice, acupressure, family support, aromatherapy, breastfeeding and comfort measures. And above all, I heard countless birth stories.
I soon realised: the nature of birth is something I am made for and I feel an innate passion to bring my trust in this primal tender power into our society. So that more people birth in love and are born in love.
MY DOULA WORK is based on individual request and calling. After my education,
I worked with birthing mothers in Canada, Scotland, Denmark and Germany. This allowed me to learn more about the differences of birthing systems and simultaneously revealed how in each of these experiences resides a universal essence, a wordless substance.
I find it valuable to be familiar with the mother tongue of the woman I support.
Currently I am fluent in German and English. Nordic languages like Swedish and Icelandic are very dear to me and I know some Spanish, Italian, French.
It is perhaps also important to mention that I am open towards freebirth/unassisted birth and can accompany you for pre- and postnatal care or provide a complete package including my presence at birth. It is fundamental to make clear that I bear no medical liability but rather you as the parents-to-be need to utterly trust your own research,
instinct and choices.
MY ART also finds expression in other areas. I compose theatre music for international productions, dye fabrics, listen to my sisters, and the forest, learn from the seasons of the female cycle, dry flowers for balm, guard children and honeybees and entrusted stories.
For me, everything is somehow intertwined, like a very personal delicate woven tapestry, and I am glad when I am able to bring more light into the world.
